A friend of mine got an RFE (asking for employment letter) on his I485 yesterday. Does that mean they are working on his case? His priority date is later than mine and I dont hear anything from them!

I filed EAD/AP and I485 together when I filed back in June 2005. I did not do any finger printing for EAD then. But for EAD renewal in 2006 and 2007 March, I applied EAD online. Then I had to go to ASC(Application Service Center) to give finger prints(not all fingers for EAD).
I'm one like you, check with your attorney for expert advice

I guess, you need to enter the "Received Date" that is on your last I-765 receipt Notice.

USCIS has recently published a new fact sheet of common questions and answers for members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. The fact sheet is worth reading if you are in the Armed Forces because the answers to some of the questions are different (and usually more advantageous) to members and/or dependents of those in the Armed Forces. For instance, if you are a civilian, obtained your green card through a marriage to a U.S. Citizen and you have been married for less than two years, you must file Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence (http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=f858d59cb7a5d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCR D&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1 RCRD) to remove the conditional residence and obtain your permanent green card. Mine also same postion, I got my FP appointment for 11/13 at chicago but I went to LA ASC on 10/25 surprisingly they didn't bothered about date ,time and place they taken my finger prints right away. So go to near ASC. best of luck.

Hello All,
When I was doing my education (MS) my credit dropped drastically and recently like 2 years back it went for collections too. However I cleared all my credit card debts but it still shows on the credit report that as severe deliquencies and number of open accounts.
Next month I'm applying for AOS - I want to know whether bad credit will have any affect of the approval or denial of the application? :mad:
Any suggestion is appreciated.

Hi there,
I am from northern NY, close to the border and my spouse has been to Ottawa twice for H1 renewal.
No there is no problem at the actual border. However if you are driving through the Adirondacks be prepared for Border Police (best not to drive at night). Also there has been a lot of snow and the roads are very slippery (the region gets some serious snow and wind chill). Make sure that your car breaks, tires and heating is okay.
Drive safe and Best of luck!!!

(1) Should I select based on my salary? Big company offers more salary.
(2) I have to now start Greencard again. So should I choose big company or small ? Both said they will consider sponsoring if performance is good.
(3) If I transfer H1B Is Big company likely to get RFE or small?

It is a well known fact that the h1-b bodyshoppers/IT consulting companies exploit the system(laws) and their employee's for their own ends.
When everyone knows that these body shoppers are filing all the 65k h1's in one day for the jobs that are non existant with them, why no one is questioning it ?
These companies are not only grabbing all the available quota of h1's for locking in the techies(employees) and exploiting them but at the same time depriving the actual real companies (where work is done) from hiring the h1b techies.
Am just amazed at this pesudo demand of h1b created by these cyotes, isnt there any law to prohibit such malpractise/ cheating of the system ?
Also how can Attorney's and Law firms help in filing these made-up h1's are not they under oath to not do such malpractise ?

I am in USA since the year 2005 on H1B with company A. I have spent more than 5 years in H1B and during Jan-2010 i changed my status to L1A. Now i have spent nearly 9 months in L1A and a total of 5.9 years in US. Now i am likely to get a job in company B. My questions are :
1. Is it possible for me to change from L1A to H1B again?
2. If it is possible to change from L1A to H1B, Is my 9 months spent on L1A will be added to my H1B quota of 6 six years? (i.e i already spent 5 years in H1B and and 9 months in L1A).
3. If this 9 months is NOT added to my H1 then i am okay but if it is added, will that be a constraint for me to apply for green card in company B. please advise.
